Simulated Emergency Test 2022
The Simulated Emergency Test (SET) is an annual nationwide emergency communications exercise with three goals:
Test the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) and National Traffic System (NTS) capabilities and performance in a realistic scenario,
Demonstrate amateur radio's ability to perform in emergency and disaster-response conditions, and
Give operating experience to licensed amateur radio volunteers.
As in past years, COTN will be in extended operation for the SET, held the first weekend of October. This will be October 1 and 2. We will be operating in support of Ohio ARES District 7, providing liaison between Ohio Section assets and the ARES programs of Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Knox, Licking, Madison, Marion, Pickaway, and Union counties.
Please volunteer for duty if you would like to help. Note that if you are from a D7 ARES group, please coordinate with your local Emergency Coordinator or Net Manager to have them "send" you to represent them on COTN.
See our schedule as it develops.

Expect in the coming weeks to see an Activation Warning, and eventually an Activation Notice, and special SET 2020 net control script.
