Simulated Emergency Test Underway
Post date: Oct 3, 2015 5:36:59 PM
Good afternoon! Our annual Simulated Emergency Test (SET) is underway. Our first net convened at 0000 this morning, with additional nets successfully operated at 0600, 0800, 1000, and 1200. Thanks to everyone who joined us on those nets to bring traffic, take traffic, and relay traffic. Our net control stations and section net liaisons have been busy, with more than fifty pieces of traffic moved so far today.
As part of our exercise, the Ohio EMA W8SGT has advised that it has now been more than 72 hours since the blackouts started. Backup battery power for repeater systems has now failed and we are moving all operations to simplex. As a result, our next net, scheduled for 1400, will be operating on our simplex frequency 147.510. KD8TTE will act as net control from the Franklin County EMA.
Thank you for your interest in and support of our exercise. We hope to hear you on the air at 1400.
