COTN at Columbus Hamfest

posted Jul 6, 2014, 7:33 PM by C. Matthew Curtin
The Columbus Hamfest will be held on August 2, 2014 at the Aladdin Shrine Center, 3850 Stelzer Road, Columbus, OH 43085. We are looking for a coordinator for COTN's presence.

In past years COTN has staffed a booth where we were able to introduce attendees to the National Traffic System and the handling of formal traffic. It's an excellent opportunity for us to reach out to people who are interested in amateur radio and to show them one of the oldest activities, and why the ARRL is called the Amateur Radio Relay League.

This year we would like to have a booth. Perhaps we can include handouts regarding traffic handling, or can have radiogram forms there for people stopping by to use to get messages brought to COTN and to be sent on their way. The coordinator will need to work with the Columbus Hamfest leadership to ensure that we secure the space we need, with the COTN Net Manager for the handouts and other items to bring to the booth, and with other COTN members to ensure that we have proper coverage of the booth for the duration of the hamfest.

Please contact KD8TTE if you're interested in serving as coordinator for COTN at the Columbus Hamfest, or otherwise have availability to support our presence there, by Friday, July 11, 2014.
