After-Action Report Emergency Communications Nationwide Radio Simulation May 30, 2020

Central Ohio Traffic Net has released its After-Action Report on its recent participation in the Red Cross / ARES Emergency Communication National Radio Simulation. COTN operated as the net for Ohio ARES District 7, a ten-county area of Central Ohio. In keeping with the spirit of the exercise's operation under emergency conditions and without commercial power, the net operated without the support of repeaters. Not all counties were in play for the exercise, but the communication plan established by COTN allowed for Marion, Delaware, Union, and Franklin Counties to move the messages they needed to move.

We affirm and refine our training goals based on these results:

1. Maintain flexibility in operation,

2. Conduct more simplex nets,

3. Conduct small-scale activations, and

4. Coordinate with county ARES.

The complete report is available from www.cotn.us/reports and directly from https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=sites&srcid=ZGVmYXVsdGRvbWFpbnxjZW50cmFsb2hpb3RyYWZmaWNuZXR8Z3g6N2JiMDI4NDhjYzUzZmE5OQ.

Thanks to all who participated!
